Coleford Welcomes Walkers Footprint Logo

Affiliated to the National Walkers are Welcome Network

We are quietly rather excited that Coleford became the first, of hopefully many more towns in the Forest of Dean District to have gained accreditation to the Walkers are Welcome UK network.  Walkers are Welcome has a membership of over 100 towns and villages in the UK, whose main aim is to assist with our respective communities’ economic growth, physical health and mental well-being through walking.

About Coleford

Coleford is a bustling Market Town in the Centre of the Forest of Dean, a gem to be discovered. It is steeped in history and set in an idyllic part of the Country adjacent to an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; home to a population of approximately 8,500 people and an abundance of wild life!

Having the ancient Forest on our doorstep, which is managed by Forestry England, there is access to miles and miles of beautiful walks and stunning views all year round.

Coleford town has a variety of eateries to suit people’s needs and there are several places to stay be it a B&B, Airbnb, Big House Stays and camping of all denominations.

Most importantly there is a hearty welcome awaiting you, with many shops and businesses displaying the Walkers are Welcome window sticker.
